JOYSE BANISTER is a fourth generation horseman in her family. She has been involved in the Standardbred industry, Pony of the Americas (POA) breed and miniatures for over fifty years. She was involved in managing the National POA Office in different capacities for more than 30 years, and left the position of CEO in 2020. She currently is the Standardbred Breed Development Coordinator for the Indiana Horse Racing Commission and spends much of her summers coordinating the drug testing for horses at the county fair harness racing circuit. She owns several miniature horses and participates in shows in Indiana as well as Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Oklahoma. As president of the Indiana Miniature Equine Club (IMEC), she stays busy with preparing for club shows, as well as the increasingly popular AMHA Hoosier Gold! Whenever you are in central Indiana, stop by Longacre Farm and say, “Hello.” You can usually find Joyse and her two Great Danes somewhere on the farm, and you are always welcome!
